Connecting to Freeswitch via ESL and perl

Hi,
I’m trying to write a perl script to monitor FreeSWITCH activity via the ESL. However, I’m struggling to find any documentation that is more recent than 2016.

What is the recommended method for connecting to the ESL with perl in 2024?

Or would it be better to use python? Although the docs online for python also seem to stop around 2016

Hi, I’m in the same situation.

I would like to migrate from Asterisk to FreeSWITCH, but I’m being held back by the inability to use ESL from Python.
