Ignore_early_media and 183

We are using ignore_early_media on outbound calls, to give the caller ringing signal as soon as possible. But sometimes the end provider sends some voice messages, especially on cell phones, like “Number is not accessible” etc… We would like the caller to hear those messages. Usually, the provider sends 183 when there is a voice playback.

So, is there a way to ignore_early_media and still pass voice messages to the caller?

Hmm, maybe I do not understand correctly. As I am reading ignore_early_media, doesn’t mean that early media is not heard. Maybe we do not hear provider voice messages, as we are using also ringback?

Yes ignore early media will ignore the media the caller can’t hear it.
